The College was started in 1855
as a Zillah School. Later in 1868 it was up grades as a
provincial school and by 1873 it acquired the status of
second grade college. In 1891 the college become affiliated
to Andhra University instruction in B.Sc course in
Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry was commenced in 1930.
